D&I-related training

The recently-published SY Learning Policy document https://edms.cern.ch/file/2899540/1/SY_Learning_Policy.pdf includes training related to the 25by’25 initiative and in particular the “Active bystander” and “Selecting the right person for CERN” courses.

“Active Bystander” course

The Active bystander course is an online training of the duration of about 1h30. It promotes the importance of being an active bystander and provides skills and techniques to positively challenge bullying, harassment and inappropriate behaviours.

The training is mandatory for all newcomer MPEs within the first year of their employment and it is strongly recommended for everybody.

Four dedicated sessions exclusively reserved to SY members have been organised:

  • 2 sessions with 120 seats each in English, 12.09.2023 and 09.10.2023 @13:30
  • 2 sessions with 120 seats each in French, 12.09.2023 and 09.10.2023 @9:00

“Selecting the right person for CERN” course

The course “Selecting the Right person for CERN” https://lms.cern.ch/ekp/servlet/ekp?PX=N&TEACHREVIEW=N&PTX=&CID=EKP000040725&TX=FORMAT1&LANGUAGE_TAG=en&DECORATEPAGE=N remains mandatory for all selection board members. A refresher course for people who have followed the course 8 or more years ago is being discussed.

MICROTALKS

CERN’s Learning and Development team has organised a series of Micro-Talks' (60mn +15mn Q&A) on topics relevant to personal development and D&I.

Events are planned once a month. Some micro-talks will take place at CERN (and webcasted/recorded), others will be hosted via Zoom. Some topics will be hosted in English and others in French.
